When they’ve been academic studies detailing that something like 85% of mainstream media coverage of Labour has been viciously negative since Jeremy Corbyn became leader, it should be no surprised to any of us lefty activists that by & large the mainstream media might very well be totally hostile towards the launch of Labour’s GE2017 manifesto regardless how well its contents goes down well with peeps on the street, I mean we’ve already seen how reactionary sections of mainstream media have been towards the draft of Labour’s manifesto which was leaked last week, claiming Jeremy Corbyn wants to take this country back to the 1970s when in fact Labour’s GE2017 is about investing in Britain to take it beneficially forward towards the 2070s, even the supposed left leaning Guardian newspaper pooh-poohed the leaked draft of Labour’s manifesto though I was genuinely shocked that Polly Toynbee actually seemed to like the proposals which had been leaked.
Its not as the Daily Fail or the Torygraph have ever really given Labour positive coverage in the past or will ever give Labour positive coverage in the future, but hey I don’t have to pay for either the Daily Fail or the Torygraph or The Scum or any of the other mainstream media enities which have a rabid Tory bias, but then there’s BBC News & their flagrant Tory bias which I’m forced to pay for.
I’ve often said that I prefer Fox News to BBC News, because I know I’m going to get rightwing propaganda bollocks from Fox thus don’t pay for a subscription, whereas I’m forced to pay for BBC News with their not so subtle Tory bias. I might be an Alt-Left socialist, but I want rid of the TV Licence or at least rid of BBC’s parliamentary charter which weds it to the Tory establishment.
How many editions of Question Time have we watched with a panel of pundits who lean far more to the right of the political divide then left, how many editions of Marr & the Sunday/Daily Politics have we watched when there’s a Tory fuckers smearing Jeremy Corbyn & Labour without little challenge (if any at all) from presenters of those programs & then there’s continuous negative reporting of Labour from Laura Kuenssberg particularly since Jeremy Corbyn was elected party leader.
I saw that Laura Kuenssberg received her obligatory booing from Labour activists when asking Jeremy Corbyn a question at the official launch of Labour’s GE2017 manifesto, but what the fuck should she expect when she’s consistently given inaccurate & biased coverage of Jeremy Corbyn & Labour, she’s the BBC News’s Political Editor who’s way too obviously a mouthpiece for Tory propaganda, I’m pretty sure that when she rushed off to file her report on the Labour’s manifesto launch, whatever report Laura Kuenssberg filed, it would have first been vetted by Tory Central Office.
She might as well conclude any report on the Labour Party she broadcasts with “This is Laura Kuenssberg reporting for Conservative Central Office”, but this isn’t just about Kuenssberg being biased against Labour in her reporting, it’s about but the entire BBC News & Current Affairs apparatus being part of the Tory propagandist machinery!
Even Nick Robinson who’s the former BBC News Political Editor (& a confirmed Tory), has questioned BBC News’s bias coverage against Jeremy Corbyn & Labour, so its not like this is only an obsessive concern of your most hardened Corbynista.
Now with Labour launching its GE2017 manifesto & the remaining weeks of this election campaign, I’m sure BBC current affairs programs such as Sunday/Daily Politics will have the usual procession of Tory cunts smearing Jeremy Corbyn as either a terrorist or a feeble hippy, there also strangely won’t be a shortage of political pundits bashing Labour & its manifesto far more then any pundit appearing on any BBC current affairs program will denounce the Tories & their manifesto, oh but you’re going to insist the BBC are ‘impartial’, err the BBC is impartial my arse!
