Nicola Sturgeon is tonight the latest political leader to be interviewed by Andrew ‘friends with top Tories’ Neil in a series of one-to-one interviews Neil is doing with leaders from major political parties during this election, last week he interviewed Theresa May where she yet again parroted soundbites & managed not to answer any questions he posed, oh then there was the hatchet smear job on Jeremy Corbyn which just made for an excruciating stupid television, I’d imagine that Neil will give Nicola Sturgeon a hard time being as he’s a Tory & supports keeping Scotland in the union & because he’s a misogynistic did who often lays into female politicians on the progressive side of the spectrum sometimes to the point they’re on the verge of tears, but the question I have is if he’s going to be interviewing UKIP’s Paul Nuttall then why isn’t Neil going to be interviewing Caroline Lucas who’s the Green Party’s co-leader.
So UKIP have ZERO members of parliament & somehow this justifies the mainstream media to give them disproportionately more airtime then the Greens who have at least one MP that being Caroline Lucas, plus considering UKIP’s electoral collapse of late it’s hardly likely they’re going to be winning any parliamentary seats on June 8th whereas the Greens are likely to gain another MP in Bristol West.
Let me declare my bias, despite the party divide, I’m a massive fan of Caroline Lucas & support all she’s done to further the progressive cause as she’s somebody not scared to take a stand against the authorities in doing so. If Labour for whatever reason became Blairite yet again then no question I’d defect & pledge my support for the Greens, however whilst Jeremy Corbyn is leader & the party membership wants to keep the party leftwards I pledge my support 110% for Labour, however I agree with Caroline Lucas there should have been at least of been an official electoral pact between Labour & the Greens to help remove the Tories from power & I do applaud the Greens for standing down candidates in parliamentary seats where there’s a far greater chance of Labour defeating the Tories.
Yes Caroline Lucas participated in ITV’s Leaders Debate the week before last whereas Jeremy Corbyn & Theresa May didn’t, Caroline certainly put over a progressive message more than well enough that it will likely gain the Greens support & votes. I’d be shocked if Caroline Lucas or her co Green Party leader Jonathan Bartley aren’t participating in the BBC’s version of a Leaders Debate this coming Wednesday which Theresa May has already said she won’t be participating in because she’s too much of a fucking coward, this of course will be another greater opportunity for the Greens to advocate a progressive message, though that’s all very well & good, the fact remains Paul Nuttall & UKIP still are getting disproportionately far more media coverage then the Greens.
I’m a political fucking anorak, so I watch all the political coverage pumped out by the mainstream news media & I see how many more times Paul Nuttall or Suzanne Evans or Nigel Farage are interviewed on political & current affairs programs then any Green Party politician & it’s not as if there’s not just Caroline Lucas & Jonathan Bartley they could interview, Jenny Jones & Jean Lambert are great peeps & peeps who the mainstream media could interview but won’t, UKIP could get zero fucking votes & yet again Suzanne Evans with all her insufferable smugness will appear on the BBC.
