If the opinion polls are to be believed then the Tories are currently on course for something like at 40 odd seat majority on June 8th, however the Tories are genuinely rattle by the rise in the polls of Jeremy Corbyn & Labour, considering the Tories started this GE2017 campaign with a 20 point lead in the opinion polls, the Tories have a genuine fear that Labour could overtake them in the polls before the week is out, rumour has it that the Tories are supposedly planning something of a relaunch to their election campaign this week, because yeah the Tories election campaign has been fucking dismal, the Tory manifesto was dreadful & so has Theresa May’s performance as Tory party leader, but before any Labour activists & supporters start celebrating might I remind them of late the pollsters have been getting it wrong with predicting elections etc.
I know it might sound arrogant, but despite what the polls said prior to the 2015 General Election & the EU Referendum, I knew Labour were going to lose in 2015 & Vote Leave were going to win the EU referendum, but like many I was genuinely shocked Hilary Clinton lost the US presidential election, so much so it did literally took me months to recover & want to fully engage with politics again. I can’t deny there’s something going on regards Jeremy Corbyn & Labour, but is it enough, are the polls right? I’ll be honest & say I simply don’t know, the only thing I knew prior to GE2017 campaign kicking off was that this election was going to be a lot closer than many thought it would be.
I knew prior to GE2017 campaign beginning in earnest that it would be a lot closer then many pundits were predicting because I knew as soon as Jeremy Corbyn hit the campaign trail his popularity would rise as campaigning is what Jeremy excels at! Let us not forget supporting Jeremy is an army of Labour activists half a million strong & there’s a well-oiled activist machine of Momentum who’s membership alone is larger then the entire membership of the Tory Party.
Of course I want Jeremy Corbyn to win GE2017, as a person with multiple disabilities whose life ain’t doing so great, I genuinely fear for my life if the Tories win another term with a hefty majority, but I don’t know if I or anyone should be reading any opinion poll even if a poll from a reputable polling company show Labour have overtaken the Tories.
