Let us not put the cart before the horse or count our chickens before they hatch or any other cliché to signify Labour supporters (including myself) shouldn’t be daydreaming about scenarios post the general election on Thursday about Labour forming the next government when the most important thing is to ensure Labour/Momentum activists need to get busy in ensuring peeps vote Labour.
The most important thing for Labour activists is to ensure peeps vote Labour, not to get caught in the buzz created by the two YouGov polls in the past week predicting the Tories could be short of an overall majority by something in the range of 20 seats. I get why the possibility of there being a hung parliament might get Labour supporters & activists excited, but YouGov have been the only pollsters I’ve seen who have been predicting a hung parliament, whilst all the others I’ve seen have been predicting Tories will be returned to government with a slightly increased majority, anyways its not as if of late the pollsters have been any good in accurately predicting electoral outcomes, the US Presidential Election, the EU Referendum, the 2015 General Election, etc.
I don’t need the opinion polls to tell me Labour have been surging due to Jeremy Corbyn & Labour having had a relatively good GE2017 campaign & everything is still to play for in this general election due to Theresa May & the Tories having had a fucking dismal GE2017 campaign, but let us not lose sight of what’s important.
I know how easy it to get swept up in mulling over various scenarios post the election on Thursday based on the predictions being published by pollsters, I mean I’ve been doing myself & I know its far from helpful because even if the pollsters are this time more accurate in their election predictions, it counts for shit if peeps don’t vote Labour.
What’s important is to vote Labour, it’s the only thing which going to count, so vote Labour & ensure as many peeps you communicate with to do so.
