The best moment for me personally in all the election night coverage, my personal ‘Portillo Moment’ of the night, was the look of utter fucking misery on Nick Clegg’s face when he lost his Sheffield Hallam seat & it was ever sweeter because Labour took the seat from him.
It probably would have been more poetically just if he’d lost his seat at the 2015 General Election for having led the Lib Dems into coalition government with the Tories after the previous general election in 2010, but the fact the electorate dumped him out of parliament & not having Clegg being able to decide when he stood down as MP, well that’s revenge enough for this person with disabilities.
I hate Nick Clegg not just because he betrayed millions of voters who thought the Lib Dems were the most progressive choice back in 2010, but also because he & the Lib Dems propped up a Tory government which in its full 5 year term killed tens of thousands of peeps with disabilities & persecuted hundreds of thousands more, come on Lib Dems explain to me how its ‘progressive’ to persecute peeps with disabilities?
Well the results of this general election just gone meant I had no need to reach for my suicide stockpile of pills, it’s not as if the fuck awful Work Capability Test is going to be axed or the Personal Independence Assessments are going to be ditched & I’m sure there’ll be peeps with disabilities further subjected to that Tory evilness & some won’t be able to live with stress it causes them, however the opposition to all this fuck dreadful evil bullshit is now far stronger & will make it near impossible for the Tories to further persecute & torture peeps with disabilities & I don’t doubt the Tory cunts will attempt to do so.
Being as the Tories are still in government, the future for peeps with disabilities isn’t brilliant, but now Labour are now stronger & no longer dominated by Blairites who’d throw peeps with disabilities under the bus if they thought there were votes in it, the future is at least better for peeps with disabilities.
Funny how things turn out isn’t it, I mean I thought GE2017 would result in me & other peeps with disabilities in possibly topping ourselves if the Tories got a substantial majority, but here I’m far more hopeful even if the fact remains Labour didn’t win.
After so many years of feeling fucking miserable about the prospects for peeps I’m far more hopeful post GE2017.
