The English Defence League are today due to demonstrate in London & Britain First are due to march in Birmingham & before anybody starts bleating on at me about free speech, let me just ask considering the current atmosphere should we really be encouraging hate protests on our streets?
The only describe it as is terrorising ordinary peeps, when ordinary peeps are fearful to enjoy a Saturday afternoon in their local town or city centre as there’s the threat violence because BF or EDL are marauding about the place with morons prone to violence & spouting hate about peeps who happen to be different to them.
This isn’t about free speech or the right protest, this about the trouble & trauma there is anytime the likes of BF & the EDL roll into town preaching hatred, I doubt I’m the only one who wants to be able to have the freedom to walk down any local street & not be pelted with hate, bottles & bricks because I’m a disabled trans woman, believe me its inevitable you’re get grief whenever any hate group rolls into town because the peeps in these groups aren’t just hateful of immigrants & Muslims but anybody who’s different to them because they’re not White & Christian & severely insecure they have to wrap themselves up in the Union Jack.
Of course the alt-right/Far-right try to put it about that their odious hate fest protests would be peaceful if it weren’t ’or antifascist activists counter demonstrating, yes how dare antifascist activists counter demonstrate those who want to do harm to anybody who’s different, oh dare there be activists prepared to want to take a stand to protect the likes of myself not to be pelted with hate anytime I venture out of my domicile, how dare there be activists who take a stand in the face bullyboy hate! These days I might not be able to get to as many antifascist demos as I’d like to get to, but I’ve always supported antifascist demos & always will, I support anybody who takes a stand against the bullyboy hate of Britain First the English Defence League.
Peeps are emotive (& rightly so) about the hate spouted at their hate fest protests & the threat of violence which comes with it, if ignorant far-right bullyboys didn’t continually spout hate in town & city centres up & down the land come a regular Saturday afternoon then there wouldn’t be a need for antifascists to counter protest, yes maybe far-right bullyboys have a right free speech but there’s an equal tight show strong opposition to the hate they spout & I hope there’s a strong opposition this afternoon to the English Defence League in London & Britain First in Birmingham because as long as they’re spouting hate its important to show strong opposition.
