Jeremy Corbyn said at the weekly political pantomime which is known as Prime Minister’s Questions that the Tories are floundering regards the public sector pay freeze & then quite brilliantly detailed the misery the Tory government has inflicted upon many public sector workers who’ve not had a real terms payrise is almost a decade & yet are expected to provide first class services whilst being demoralised by this as well having to cope Tory cuts to the budgets of public services they’re working to provide.
There are certainly mixed messages coming out of the Tories currently about whether or not to scrap the public sector pay freeze, they might be still in government post last month’s general election, but the tide has turned against them & its obvious the Tories are floundering about public sector pay because Tories cheering in parliament last week in rejecting a rise in public sector pay hasn’t gone down well throughout the country.
However there are notable Tory grandees urging Theresa May & the present government to stick with the program of economic austerity such as David Cameron, yes Theresa May’s predecessor as Prime Minister has said its ‘selfish’ for public sector workers to want a payrise, err what the fuck?!?!? David Cameron who’s a multi-millionaire is telling nurses relying upon food banks otherwise they’ll starve that they’re ‘selfish’ for wanting a payrise!
Nurses are overworked, underpaid & totally disrespected by Tories like David Cameron & Theresa May that’s more than fucking obvious!
Last week a Tory MP told a nurse that he wouldn’t support a rise to public sector pay because the Labour Party were full of ‘Marxists’, firstly saying that Labour is full of Marxists is the kind of reactionary shite I’d expect to hear from UKIP & the alt-right & secondly err what the fuck has Labour possibly being full of ‘Marxists’ got to do with nurses who are overworked & underpaid now having to rely upon food banks? I think public sector workers feeling squeezed because they’ve not had a rise in their pay in almost a decade has everything to do with Tories sociopathic program of austerity & fuck all to do with Labour being full of ‘Marxists’ which it isn’t & I’d know having a fair bit of knowledge of Marxian economic theory.
Whilst the Tories flounder about on scrapping the public sector pay freeze because they’re arguing amongst themselves on the issue, public sector workers suffer from not getting an actual above inflation payrise & yes any payrise public sector workers get must be above inflation for it to count.
